![]() Chinese throwing stars are metal weapons that were originally used by the ancient Chinese for fighting. Today, they're mostly made for display purposes or as a form of self-defense. They come in different shapes and sizes - some are even worn as jewelry! They vary in range between about 3 to 10 inches and usually contain four to six points, although more can be added if weight is sacrificed. They're typically comprised of a heavy steel ball with spikes sticking out at each point. The ancient Chinese used these weapons to fight fairly evenly - they were used in the same way as swords, spears as well as different martial arts. Throwing stars are fairly easy to throw, it's just a matter of weight and center of gravity. In ancient times, one could use this weapon for war or hunting game. Today, these throwing stars are mainly used by the Chinese for self-defense because of their weight and sharpness. You wouldn't want to throw one at someone if you were trying to injure them though. The primary purpose of these throwing stars is for self-defense purposes only. They can be thrown quite accurately at a person's body from up close - but they can also be thrown from a distance by using momentum. History and Origins of Throwing Stars The history of Chinese throwing stars is quite long and difficult to fully detail, but it's easy to see why they're a favorite weapon for martial artists. Some believe that the throwing star originated in Japan, which seems logical considering how ubiquitous they are there. If this theory holds, then the Northern or Western branch of ancient martial arts almost certainly served as an influence on the creation of these weapons, given their popularity in those branches. Others claim that Chinese culture is responsible for designing these dangerous implements of death. Legend has it that an emperor who was obsessed with military power ordered his chief blacksmiths to create new weapons with which his army could win wars more easily. He was adamant that the weapons should be as beautiful as possible and desired them to look like insects. His directive resulted in many different kinds of throwing stars being created, including some that were curved to resemble praying mantises. Historians have also attempted to explain where and how the Chinese first developed their unique style of throwing stars, with varying degrees of success. One story claims that this weapon was invented by the Chinese to kill the Mongol hordes who conquered China during its Yuan Dynasty. Another version claims that it was also brought over from Japan by a master Japanese swordsman who visited China during the 13th century. Types of Chinese Throwing Stars: Chinese throwing stars are one of the most iconic symbols of martial arts in the world. They are also classified as a type of edged weapon, traditionally used to stab and slash or break light armor. The three common types of Chinese throwing stars are circular, triangular, and straight-path weapons.
Uses of Throwing Stars Have you ever seen a Chinese throwing star? These weapons were used as both tools and weapons by the ancient Chinese. They have the shape of a cup or circular disc with four spikes, each at a different angle, that form a cross when they are assembled. The use of these stars in martial arts is quite extensive. In some martial arts forms, they are still placed like an emblem on uniforms and worn by practitioners for luck during training sessions or competitions. This throwing star is one of the many weapons used in martial arts. It was developed as a weapon for hand-to-hand combat and has been used for many centuries. The throwing star appears in Japanese martial arts as well, which was influenced by the Chinese. The Japanese adapted this weapon as a result of their attempts to invade Korea and China during the turn of the 20th century. In both Chinese and Japanese martial arts, these weapons are also known as shuriken or shuko but were more popularly called ninja stars on TV shows. Like any other martial art weapon, these Chinese throwing stars can be used to attack an opponent from long range with great accuracy and power.

![]() Real Ninja weapons are generally not well known, but it's worth trying to learn a little about these mysterious objects. A ninja's tools were diverse, miscellaneous, and thoughtfully designed. Some items were used as weapons while others had other purposes. For instance, some tools were used to make noises in order to distract guards or create diversions, allowing the ninjas to escape without being noticed. Other items served as general everyday objects, like coins or a comb. They could also be disguised in some way; for example, a fan would be disguised as a sword by covering the blade with a cloth that matched the color of its hilt and scabbard. The number of tools that a ninja carried depended on the individual's role in the mission; for example, a scout would carry less equipment than someone preparing to attack from afar. Popular Ninja Weapons:Ninjas are modern-day Ninja warriors, famous for their stealth and ability to sneak attack unsuspecting enemies. The history of real ninja weapons used by Ninjas dates back to around the Middle Ages as trading routes opened up between Japan and various kingdoms in Europe. There is a long history of real ninja weapons used by ninjas, but today the list of weapons employed in ninja warfare has been reduced to just a few items which include: 1) The Ninja Sword or Katana: This is the most often weapon seen in movies or blurry photographs. It is typically between 45 cm and 60 cm (17-24 inches) long and can vary in width from 1.5 to 4 cm (0.6-1.7 inches). It has a standard blade shape with a curved cutting edge and is typically used for cutting, slashing, and thrusting. It will also be a little heavier than the average sword. 2) The Nunchaku: This is a set of two sticks connected together by rope or chain so that they can be swung about at either end. These were heavily influenced by the Chinese weapon, the staff (also called the “Fu”). 3) The Sai: This is a metal spike with three points that can be jabbed into someone and easily removed by rotating the handle. This weapon was purportedly devised by the famous ninja Hattori Hanzo and reportedly contributed much to his fame. 4) The Tonfa: This is a short staff with a handle on one side and a hard stick on the other that can be used for striking. It was primarily used as an aid in parrying an enemy’s blows, and then striking back with a counter-attack. 5) The Yari: This is a polearm (a pole weapon with a sharpened tip) used for stabbing and thrusting. It can be about 24 to 32 inches in length. 6) The Naginata: This is a pole weapon with two blades, which was also used for stabbing and poking in addition to the use of its blade. The Naginata has a shorter grip than other swords leaving more hand for swift strokes. 7) The Shuriken: These are small throwing knives that can be thrown at an enemy or into the ground, and then picked up again without fear of being discovered and captured, as they are not easily detected by others. It is possible that some ninja may have also used explosives like the hand grenade which would have been detonated by a small device attached to the ninja’s clothing. 8) The Jo: This is a surprisingly effective weapon, despite its low profile. It is essentially an oversized throwing star which can be made from wood or stone, or even fashioned from metal in a more advanced version. 9) The Yumi: This is another arrow-like weapon, and was typically one of two types: The regular Shuriken and the Nodachi (the name derives from “arrow” + “long sword”). Either could be launched at an enemy and then recovered afterwards to avoid detection. 10) The Soru: This was a special ninja wood-soled footwear which allowed the ninja to make noiseless steps. 11) The Kaginawa: This is a grappling hook with rope, and could be used to scale walls in addition to being used as a tool for hanging things. 12) The Kusari Fundo: This is a sickle attached to a weight at the end of the chain (that can be longer than 2 meters or 6 feet). It could be thrown at an enemy and then quickly retrieved. The Popularity of Real Ninja Weapons!Ninjas used weapons. These ranged from swords and spears to the nunchucks, shuriken, and triple-bladed axe of the ninja. Real Ninja weapons have been popular for centuries, but they're most widely recognized in recent times due to their presence in pop culture such as video games and movies like Kill Bill. Why is it so popular? Whether real or not, many ninja weapons were very unique in appearance. The ninja was known for their skills in disguise and subterfuge; it is easy to see why they would use weapons that look like something else, such as a paper fan used as a hidden blade. The visual disguise is just another trick in the arsenal of a master swordsman or shuriken whiz. Some ninja weapons were designed to be thrown from far away, meaning the ninja could hide if someone came at them instead of fighting them head-on. This was especially important to spies, who often had to work in secret without being detected by anyone. The most popular kind of weapon for ninjas was the shuriken. This is a ninja star because it was small enough to carry around easily. It could be hidden in the hand, sleeve, boot, or anywhere else the ninja could stick it and no one would notice. The shuriken was immensely popular because of its ability to cut ropes and hit enemies from a distance. Whether it is used for silent kills or to disarm enemies during battle, the shuriken was a go-to weapon for ninjas who wanted something portable and effective. Ninja weapons are popular today due to their status as hidden weapons as well as their elaborate designs. ![]() The nunchaku is a weapon made up of two pieces of wood connected by a short rope or chain. This device's basic form is composed of two parts connected by a short section of flexible material. Both striking and grappling can be achieved with this device. Having to wait for an attacker to strike again without being hit again is determined by the arm's length between the two sections. If the shorter end is substituted during a sparring match, some Okinawan styles allow the longer end to be used. Nunchaku Has Amazing Specifications: The nunchaku is composed of 11 parts. There are many functions that each of these parts serves, and even the whole nunchaku itself performs many of them. When swung correctly, the blade provides their owner with protection from a potential opponent, while the spike on top of the handle gives their owner more control over their opponent. If you need to, you can use the end cap to smash your opponents, but it will also hurt them. Hand guards are meant to protect your hands from hitting and to provide a small barrier against grab attacks, but they can sometimes leave your wrists exposed. In the case of standing opponents, the chain part of the nunchaku can be used to chop them above their heads or to slam them down when they are standing. Your opponent will feel pain if you hit him with the chain links, but your hand remains open. Riveted links enable the chain to be moved anywhere it is needed, which allows for greater mobility, but can easily cause compromises. Nunchaku: The Correct Way To Use It In martial arts demonstrations and martial arts, nunchucks are a popular weapon. Basically, they are two sticks linked together by a chain. You or your partner can use them to create an excellent defensive tool by utilizing the physics of momentum, proper technique, and resistance. Before you use them, make sure you learn how they work. By doing so, you will maximize your chances of success. It's best to have a partner when you're training. The person holding one of the nunchaku should hold the short stick and the other should hold the other. Using these techniques on someone else will teach you how to use them. When practicing with this weapon or any other weapon, you should always stay aware of your surroundings. If an accident were to occur, you should be cautious about how you behave. There Are Several Forms Of Nunchaku The nunchaku comes in a variety of forms. Wooden ones tend to be short, while metal ones tend to be longer (some as long as your arm). Some are weighted while others are not. Whenever possible, practice with weighted exercises on a ground mat. Their length also depends on your personal needs. Start with a shorter length, particularly if this will be your first time using nunchucks. They can hang from a belt, from a belt loop, from a towel, or from another similar item that will also keep you safe if you encounter problems while training. Feel Safe With These Tools Traditional martial arts weapons, nunchakus serve as a self-defense weapon. Each stick measures the same length, both attached to each other with a short chain or rope. Hands can be used to hold them in place, or arms and legs can be wrapped around them once released. Among the materials used to make sticks are wood, bone, ivory, or plastic. Strong strikes can be delivered with these sticks of nunchaku. After being hit with such a strong blow, they won't be able to counter that. After a few weeks of practice, you will be able to use this as a self-defense weapon. Practise Tool For Martial Arts Okinawan kobudo (martial arts) styles like iaido, kendo, and jujitsu practice the nunchaku in traditional ways based on sword fighting and swordsmanship. A strike, a block, and a counter can be made stronger with it. A strike, a block, and a counter can be made stronger with it. ![]() Nunchaku is a short pair of connected sticks, typically about as long as the user's forearm, which is used in pairs; one in each hand. It is a traditional melee weapon used by the Okinawan people. It was initially introduced in China. The nunchaku is composed of two wooden or metal bars connected at one end by either a short length of rope or chain or a small length of cord. The weapons are usually wooden batons, with a handle and a hammer at one end, though samurai nunchaku commonly included a katana or tanto blade. The Ryukyu Kingdom's warriors used Okinawan nunchaku as part of their kobudō training. The Nunchaku was originally developed as a weapon in 16th-century China by Buddhist monks and was used in Jujutsu (an early Japanese martial art) for defensive purposes such as breaking holds and throws. During this time it was developed into various combat styles like Yawara or Yawara Ken (flower hand). Material Used to Make Nunchaku Real Nunchucks are a type of weapon consisting of two sticks connected by a short chain. The sticks are typically one of several different lengths, with the shorter sticks being typically used in martial arts and Taekwondo. These were developed in China and have been used as weapons, depending on their size, since the 3rd century BCE. They were also historically used as tools to perform labor such as harvesting rice. The individual components of the nunchaku can vary from simple wooden dowels to high-grade steel wire reinforced with carbon fiber or aluminum; this gives them greater durability than other similar weapons such as an iron cudgel or bō staff. Both handles, for instance, can be made of a single piece of wood, but are usually composed of two pry-like bars connected by a length of rope or chain. The nunchaku concept is closely related to the body, a weapon that has been used in many cultures for thousands of years. In the past nunchaku featured larger and more elaborate chain assemblies. With the development of specialized chain tools such as wire cutters and pliers, much larger chains could be made using one continuous piece of metal wire (often sometimes with a decorative bead in the middle) instead of two separate pieces (a short chain and a longer loop). Size and Range of Nunchaku Real Nunchucks range from 2 to 12 feet in length and 1 to 3 inches in diameter. The larger sizes were designed for individuals, while the smaller sizes were made for pairs. While the weapon was primarily used at close range, some art depicts an extended version used at mid-range with success by warriors in close combat against multiple opponents. Nunchaku is also sometimes colloquially called the "two-person chisel." The two ends of the weapon are both used to inflict and receive damage. However, some commentators have noted that there is a critical difference between the two ends of the chisel. There are two holes in each end (generally one large hole, and typically one small hole), and in order to cause damage, you must hit with the smaller end, whereas to receive it has to be made with the larger one. Historical Uses of Nunchaku Real Nunchucks often arise in the media and popular culture as weapons of choice for fictional martial artists or ninjas. Chanbara, cowboys, caricatures, and classic fighting games are some examples. More recently nunchaku has also been featured in more realistic fight scenes to accentuate their capability as a weapon of self-defense. The earliest uses of the nunchaku by unknown peoples in China, Japan, and Korea are likely to have been for prayer or magic use. This would explain the common metaphorical meaning of the word "nunchaku" as a "magic stick" or "magical staff." In China, as a type of talisman known as were-wand, the nunchaku was used by shamans. While in Japan, where it is more commonly called bōsōzokukan (or simply bōsōzoku), it was used by wandering monks and priests. The Huichol indigenous people of Mexico often carry these sticks in their religious rituals. In South America, they are worn as an object of faith and meditation. An example is the use of nunchaku in the movie Demolition Man to maintain the user's detachment by keeping him or her at a distance from others. The movie was directed by Richard Donner, who also directed Lethal Weapon 4 and 8. Modern Uses of Nunchaku Nunchaku is a traditional Japanese martial arts weapon consisting of two sticks connected at one end by a short length of cord, chain, or rope. This can be used in many ways, such as fighting and self-defense. For those who practice karate or another martial arts discipline, nunchaku is an integral part of training because it helps improve balance, focus, and coordination. It is also used in groups, as a way of understanding the differences between disciplines. It can also be used for demonstration and competition. Nunchaku is advertised as a traditional Japanese martial arts weapon consisting of two sticks connected at one end by a short length of cord, chain, or rope. Real Nunchucks can be used in many ways, such as fighting and self-defense. Nunchucks are SafeWhen Used Properly! For the most part, real nunchucks are safe when used responsibly. The speed of movement may vary greatly depending on skill level and martial arts lineage, but generally speaking, most nunchucks have relatively low energy output when released (a high-speed release is possible but unlikely). Low-impact strikes also make nunchucks a safer alternative to other practices such as boxing or martial arts sparring. While there is always a risk of injury with any weapon, using this weapon safely can help minimize that risk. ![]() Ninja swords, known as ninjato or shinobigatana, are legendary weapons associated with the mythical Japanese ninja. The ninja, often depicted in folklore and popular culture as stealthy and skilled assassins, were believed to have used these swords as part of their covert operations. These swords are typically characterized by their straight, short blades shorter than traditional Japanese swords like the katana. They typically measure around 60-65 centimeters (24-26 inches) in total length, with a straight blade that is usually single-edged and has a square tsuba (handguard) for a more discreet appearance. The handle of a ninjato is often wrapped in a simple and practical manner to allow for quick and easy handling. There is debate among historians and scholars about the historical accuracy and existence of a specific type of sword exclusively used by ninjas. Some argue that the ninjato is largely a creation of modern popular culture and was not a distinct type of sword used by historical ninjas. Instead, they suggest that ninjas would have used a wide range of weapons, including regular swords, daggers, and other tools, depending on the situation and the mission at hand. Variations in Ninja Swords: Ninja swords, also known as ninjato or shinobigatana, are often depicted in popular culture as iconic weapons used by ninja characters. However, there is debate among historians and scholars about the historical accuracy and existence of a specific type of sword exclusively used by ninjas. Some argue that the ninjato is largely a creation of modern popular culture and was not a distinct type of sword used by historical ninjas. Nevertheless, in modern media and popular culture, different types of ninja swords are often depicted with unique features and designs. Here are some examples:
The blade is usually sharp and pointed, and the sword may have a square tsuba (handguard) for a more discreet appearance. The handle is often wrapped in a simple and practical manner for quick and easy handling.
Are Ninja Swords Available Today? Yes, there are replicas and modern interpretations of ninja swords available today. However, it's important to note that these swords are typically designed for collectors, martial artists, or enthusiasts of Japanese culture, rather than for practical use as weapons. Replica swords are often made with modern materials and manufacturing techniques, and they may vary in terms of quality, authenticity, and functionality. Some replica swords are crafted to closely resemble historical swords based on popular culture depictions, while others may have more creative or artistic designs. These replica swords are typically sold for display purposes, as part of a collection, or for use in martial arts demonstrations and training. There are also modern interpretations of these swords designed for martial arts training and practice. These swords are often made with durable materials, such as high-quality stainless steel or carbon steel, and they are designed to withstand the rigors of training without the sharp edges of a real sword. Modern ninja swords for training may come in different lengths, weights, and styles, and they may be used in various forms of martial arts training, including kata (forms), sparring, and demonstrations. A nunchaku is a traditional Okinawan martial arts weapon, consisting of two sticks held together by a rope or chain, which can be used as an effective weapon. This weapon is often confused with the similar-looking sai and tonfa.
However, this is heavier and shorter than either of those weapons - they are challenging to hold for an extended period of time, but can produce more power in short bursts. This weapon has no sharp edges and the sticks do not lock at one end giving them their versatility. This is often used to depict the character of an Okinawan ninja in Japanese media because of their simple design, but are most widely associated with the martial art of Ono Nukite, which is also known as Satsujinken, although the word nunchaku means "golden staff" and can be translated as "nunchucks", hence their name. The origin of the word nunchaku itself is obscure and has been first recorded in the 17th century. The nunchuck was banned from use during World War II by General MacArthur along with karate and judo, due to their association with Ninja warrior clans but re-introduced after the war under new regulations. Parts of A Nunchaku Nunchaku is two sticks, usually made of wood, with a short piece of rope or chain between them. They were used as weapons in feudal Japan. Today they are mostly used for entertainment and martial arts practice. They are usually made of wood or plastic. The most common type is 2-4/5 feet (0.76-1.3 meters) long, with an 11/16 inch diameter (2.7 cm). Often 0.18 inches (4mm) or 1/8 inch (0.32 cm) thick, and come in an assortment of colors. To make a nunchuck you must have two sticks that are the same size and shape and then tie them together with a piece of nylon string or braided nylon cordage(paracord). Most nunchucks have an outer layer of soft plastic that is used as a handle and color. They are often painted at many stages before being assembled. There are many different types of nunchucks, each with its own name. The most common include: The kanabo (金箕) is made from one piece of metal such as brass or bronze. It was named after it looks like the Japanese character for gold and was used to grind rice or chop firewood. The metal parts may be thinned or rounded off by hammering, then bent around a stick and fastened to it with small wooden wedges (fumed). Use Nunchuck in Right Way: Nunchaku is one of the weapons taught in many martial arts. They are made from wood and typically have a chain attached to each side. It consists of two sticks connected by one piece of rope or chain, making a hinged Y shape with each stick forming an arm. Many martial artists train using this weapon to develop speed, accuracy, and flexibility. In addition, they are also useful for self-defense in situations where they may be faced with multiple opponents or individuals armed with more conventional weapons such as a knife or gun. The primary way to use a nunchuck is by holding one by the handle and swinging it around your head quickly in circles at about waist height. Generally, the "nunchuck experts" can complete this motion in both directions while keeping the sticks close to the body. In addition, you should practice swinging the sticks in empty spaces and at different speeds. The more practiced you become with your technique, you will be able to effectively defend yourself against attacks that are seen as "no-go zones" such as your own home or workplace. However, when first learning to use nunchaku, it is important to practice in an empty area that is not in a public place or office. You should also always practice with your eyes closed and make sure that no one is watching you (particularly children or elderly people). Nunchuck for Self Defense! Weapons are not the only things that carry risks. Any object you might use as a weapon can be used to cause serious harm as well, which is why it is important for you to learn how to defend yourself from the nunchaku. In order to avoid physical confrontations, utilize the power of this weapon properly and safely by understanding its full potential and how effective it can be in certain situations. Wooden swords are weapons made from straight pieces of wood. Originally, these weapons were used by the ancient Norse people for duels and battle, but nowadays most types of sword can be crafted out of wood. The most common type is called a practice sword, which has a blunt point to avoid doing damage with one's opponent. Most individuals use them solely for practicing their skills, however they do have some uses outside the fencing world as well. The point most commonly seen on most wooden swords is a round one, and it is usually made with a metal tip. The sharpness of this tip depends on how it is made, and can vary from sharp to dull. One common form of this type of sword has a disc-like tip with a circular cross-section. A few times during the history of fencing, all wooden swords have had some sort of metal component on them, depending on the purpose these were used for.
There has been a wide variety of wooden swords made throughout the history of fencing. It can be difficult to determine what period of time a specific one belongs to, but they all have some common traits that can be found on nearly all types. The most prominent characteristic is that they all come in different shapes and sizes. Prior to the 14th century, the majority of wooden swords looked relatively similar and were shaped like a crossbow bolt or long knife with a point at both ends. In the 14th century, the practice swords became longer and were shaped more like a rectangle with ring pommels. The last major change was from the 16th to 18th centuries when swords were being made with a diamond-shaped profile. Other common traits include disc-like or pointed tips, but these features are not always present on wooden swords. History of Wooden Swords A wooden sword is a type of sword made from wood. These swords have been used in civilian and military applications for thousands of years all around the world. The oldest evidence of wooden swords was found in a cave site near Athens, Greece. Swords made from this material were still being produced as late as the 19th century, and similar weapons were used by Native American warriors until their use was banned by European settlers. Ancient wooden swords were generally less sculpted than their modern counterparts. Early representations of sword-wielding Assyrian soldiers show them holding simple straight double edged swords with rounded tips. Artwork representing the ancient Chinese martial art of "bajiquan" often shows practitioners wielding long straight wooden swords with slight taper, very similarly to European longswords (this is not true for all styles of "bajiquan"). The first "true" wooden swords appear in the Bronze and Iron ages. The Roman Empire and Celtic tribes and kingdoms of Europe and England used beaten bronze for to make swords, as attested by the discovery of Samian ware bronze sword pommels, as well as other sword parts such as the "truncheon" (a type of pommel) from a Roman gladius which was made entirely from bronze, including the tang (the part where the blade moves through to attach to the hilt). The Chinese Dao sword ("single-edged, one-handed sabre") was commonly made of bronze or steel by way of folding the metal over thousands of times to create very strong steel. The Japanese clay tempered bamboo sword was often used by civilians as well as monks. Monks preferred them due to their light weight and lack of metallic sound when compared to other swords. Wooden Swords Are Used For Variety Of Purposes
Benefits And Drawbacks Of Wooden Swords: The most important aspect of a wooden sword is to have a solid grip with your thumb wrapped around the back. This allows for good control of the weapon, but can be difficult to obtain if you are used to holding a shinai or bokken. The posture of kendo is so important that it really cannot be stressed enough; keeping your back straight and head up will allow you to go longer and stronger in training, and will help correct many common mistakes in form that people make when they first start out. A lot of people will make the mistake of over-extending when winding up for an ikkyo strike; this is easily corrected by keeping your elbow close to your body and centering the blade vertically with the top of your head, rather than extending it fully in front of you before striking. The biggest drawback that I have found is that without a solid way to hook or catch your opponent's weapon, you are limited to using basic swinging techniques. Once you have good control of your weapon and can throw your opponent's weapon around, you will be able to use more advanced techniques such as the ikkyo and kotegaeshi. Training Weapon of Choice: The conclusion of my wooden sword is that they are a great way for people to start out, but won't help people advance their skill. Wooden swords are a good place to start if you're just getting into the art of Kendo, as they're inexpensive and provide a relatively safe experience as you work on improving your form. The drawbacks of these weapons will quickly become apparent as skills advance, which means that those looking to improve their swordsmanship should consider investing in a higher quality steel blade. The word 'shuriken' is a Japanese word meaning "sharp-edged hidden hand-blade" and oftentimes refers to a metal instrument consisting of a sharpened alleged blade concealed in the palm of the hand.
The "shuriken" as we know it today is a weapon that originated in ancient Japan and has been used as a weapon of war and self defense for thousands of years. It was first used by the ancient ninja. The ninja were basically spies and assassins who travelled around in small groups helping their lord by killing his enemies and eliminating rival families. They would often take these sharpened blades with them as they roamed the countryside, making them perfect weapons for their dirty work. These early ninja were a very special group of people. They were a secret society, they were not allowed to speak in the presence of an enemy and they had to dress in black. They would often have their weapons hidden among their clothing or folded up in their sleeves. They would also wear a metal mask that would prevent a blow from a sword to a part of the body that might cause the warrior to speak or be heard. They were also experts in throwing weapons and had many different types of these hidden blades which they would use while travelling to kill their enemies. The features And Uses Of Throwing Star Shuriken are Japanese throwing knives, with three cutting edges on one side and one pointed edge on the other. These weapons are traditionally used to throw at an opponent's body or face, making them "throwing stars" more than anything else. During World War II, shuriken were adapted by American forces as a versatile weapon for close-quarters fighting. One of the main differences between these weapons and their original form is that instead of being made from metal, modern shuriken are formed from composite materials like carbon fibre. This makes them much lighter and able to be thrown with greater force and accuracy than their predecessors. Shuriken were originally used in the 16 th century by the Japanese, and were primarily designed for use in warfare. They continued to be used until World War II, when they were employed by modern American forces as an alternative to the standard knife. Shuriken remained in use throughout the Vietnam War, though they are rarely seen today. Shuriken are often employed as a complement to a sword or other melee weapon. Although they can be used as a single-handed throwing weapon, most shuriken weigh so little they can also be used as an effective hand-to-hand weapon. When they are used as such, the sharpened edge is typically the first part of the blade to strike an opponent. They come in several different varieties, such as star, disc and sickle shapes. They can also be double-edged and single-edged, and generally come in a variety of colors. Most shuriken are weighted to make them more likely to stick into their targets, though they can be made so light as to not fall with gravity after being thrown. Shuriken can also be used as a weapon with less lethal weapons such as the knife, but this is less common. Due to their lack of spine or point, they cannot puncture tissues or cause injury with any significant force. Shuriken Comes In Various Shapes Shuriken are one of the oldest known traditional Japanese projectiles. There are various types, categorised by shape and the number of points. The four most common shapes include throwing stars, straight stars, guard stars, and leaf-shaped blades. There are many different types of shuriken to name just a few that have been around for many years including throwing stars or ninja's hand weapons which have become more popular today because they are seen as collectible items rather than part of a warrior's arsenal. The most well known type of throwing star is the 'yokogiri' which is a six pointed star, also called a 'hitsumabushi', and it has been around since the late 17th century. The design was popularised by Sengo Muramasa, the famous Japanese sword maker of the Edo period. Kunai are some of the most common types of shuriken. They are designed to be used as throwing stars or knives. The kunai was also the basic utility tool of the ninja warriors. It is said that even if they lost their shuriken, they could still fight by using their kunai. They were designed to be small and light weight which made them easy to carry around and conceal under the ninja's clothing. A Ninja Weapon with Ultimate Power! Shuriken come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and can be used for multiple purposes. They can be thrown as either a projectile, or as a melee weapon depending on the material and shape. There are huge circular shurikens also known as bakudan and other more complex and deadly weapons such as the kunai taken from the hearts of enemies. They are often depicted in anime shows and manga with elaborate designs, but the historical use varied based on the user’s style. They were also commonly seen as weapons used by ninjas in "Star Wars". |
